Long-Lasting, Life-Changing Dental Implants

If you have one or more missing teeth, you may be struggling to bite and chew or feel embarrassed to talk, laugh, and socialize. Missing most or all your teeth can result in changes in your facial appearance, a decline in your health, and increased discomfort and/or self-consciousness. No matter how many teeth you are missing, dental implants are the “gold standard” solution. Dental implants are built to function like tooth roots and a natural tooth, these permanent tooth replacements are made up of three components—a titanium or ceramic post, an abutment and a restoration—and can restore your oral health, smile esthetics and dental function, and can do so for decades! Here at My Indy Dental Center, Dr. Lisbeth Randall is experienced in providing single dental implants in Indianapolis, IN, and she can help you achieve a new smile and quality of life with this permanent solution, too!

Types of Dental Implants

Missing one tooth may leave you feeling self-conscious and not eager to smile. Here at My Indy Dental Center, we have a solution just for that: a single dental implant is used to replace your missing tooth. Dr. Randall will introduce a titanium or ceramic post into the jawbone at the site of the missing tooth in place of the misplaced tooth’s root, then attach a brand-new acrylic tooth to it.

Even if you’re missing a few teeth in your mouth, this is fixable with our multiple dental implants. A multiple dental implant replaces teeth without support from adjacent teeth, with a titanium or ceramic post set into the jawbone to hold your new acrylic teeth.

Full Implant Supported Dentures

Used to create a full mouth restoration, our full implant supported dentures can give you the smile makeover you deserve. This includes several dental implants embedded in the jawbone to create artificial tooth roots. Once these implants are in, Dr. Randall will attach a beautiful set of acrylic teeth that match your facial structure to your implants to finish your smile transformation.

Our Sedation Dentistry Services

Dental fear and anxiety can keep many Indianapolis, IN patients from receiving the necessary dental care they need for healthy, beautiful smiles. If this sounds like you, put your mind at ease. With sedation that is tailored to the needs of each patient, you’ll have a very comfortable experience at My Indy Dental Center. Our practice possesses a rare combination of positivity, comfortable amenities and minimally invasive dental technology that combine to help you overcome your worry. In fact, we want you to not only receive the dental care you need, but also enjoy your dental visit! We offer sedation dentistry services customized to minimize your anxiety and worry, which also facilitates the healing process by reducing muscle stiffness post-procedure. With dental sedation, you can combine multiple treatments into one efficient appointment, minimizing the number of visits. Let our sedation dentistry treatment put your fears to rest and change your relationship with dentistry. We offer:

Oral Sedation

This is a prescribed medication that can be taken an hour before treatment or upon arrival at our office. Depending on the type of medication, as well as the potency of the prescription, patients may feel anything from a moderate decrease in anxiety to feeling so relaxed that they fall asleep in the chair! With this sedation, it may be necessary for a friend or family member to provide transportation home.

Nitrous Oxide

Commonly called “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is a gaseous medication inhaled through a nasal mask. Although patients likely won’t laugh, they often feel drowsy and relaxed throughout their treatment. With this sedation, patients will remain conscious, relaxed and responsive throughout their care. After treatment is done, the nitrous oxide is stopped, so only oxygen is breathed until the mask is removed. The effects will wear off quickly, allowing you to drive yourself home.

Your Custom Dental Implant Options

Dental implants can support a single dental crown to replace one missing tooth or a dental bridge to replace two or more missing teeth in a row. Dental implants can also be used to increase the stability of a modified denture, which snaps securely to the implants placed in the jawbone. For patients with many or all missing teeth, dental implants can permanently support a full, fixed bridge of artificial teeth. This solution makes it possible to eat any type of food with strong, natural-looking teeth. In all cases, dental implants improve your ability to eat comfortably, feel confident in a complete smile, and live an overall healthier and better quality of life.

Our Dental Implant Treatment Process

Your dental implant treatment at My Indy Dental Center is personalized to your specific oral health needs and smile goals. You’ll first complete a consultation with Dr. Randall, during which we’ll discuss your dental and medical history, take digital X-rays, and create a custom treatment plan. Next, you’ll undergo surgery, which may involve tooth extractions and bone grafting along with dental implant placement. We use fully guided techniques for all our surgeries, to ensure efficient procedures with exact and predictable results. During your surgery, you’ll rest comfortably under sedation and remain pain-free. In many cases, we’re able to attach a temporary tooth or set of teeth at this same appointment, to fill gaps where teeth are missing. As your mouth heals over the next three or more months, you’ll be able to eat comfortably and enjoy restored smile esthetics until you receive your permanent, custom-made dental implant restoration.

Why Choose Dental Implants?

Dental implants provide numerous advantages over other tooth replacement options. Unlike dental bridges, dental implants do not require healthy teeth to be present to support the restoration. Dental implants only need proper jawbone density to remain secure and strong, where they will in turn provide stimulation to keep the bone healthy. Unlike dentures, dental implants are permanently secured in your jawbone and act like artificial tooth roots (implant posts) that limit bone recession. They are permanently fixed and stable enough to restore over 99% of natural biting and chewing power. For this reason, implants are one of the preferred solutions and virtually all patients who come to My Indy Dental Center are candidates for dental implants.
